The Plateau of Giant, Armed Critters (Mulgore)
They’re cute. They’re cuddly. They’re heavily armed.
On the border of Stonetalon Mountains in northwest Mulgore, you’ll find an absolutely bizarre plateau filled with critters. But these aren’t ordinary animals: The mice, rabbits, and prairie dogs all grow to giant size; and are loaded for bear with axes, knives, shotguns, and the claimed skulls of the vanquished.
They may look scary, but thankfully, these critters won’t attack you.

Goblin Beach Resort (Feralas)
Looking to take a brief in-game vacation? In the Steam Pools region of Southern Feralas, you’ll find a hidden goblin-run beach resort filled with NPCs, including Blood Elf adventurer superstar Johnny Awesome.
None of the NPCs here have anything to offer by way of quests, but they do complain about the resort’s high prices if you interact with them.

Pepe
Love him or hate him, Pepe the bird is a true Easter egg. Blizzard 3D artist Jordan Powers hides the character in every project he works on.
Pepe makes an appearance in a tree in your Warlords of Draenor garrison; right-click him and he’ll ride on your head for an hour. He also makes costumed appearances in Talador, Gorgrond, Spires of Arak, and Nagrand as part of a hide-and-seek-type achievement.

Dormus the Camel Hoarder (Uldum)
Those who have explored Uldum might recall seeing small camel figurines scattered around the desert. These figurines usually crumble to dust when you inspect them, but rarely, one will teleport you to the Steaming Pools on the border of Feralas and Silithus.
There, you’ll find a massive elite named Dormus the Camel Hoarder. Defeat him, and you’ll get the Reins of the Grey Riding Camel mount, an achievement, and “the Camel-Hoarder” title.

Murderous Pets
Many World of Warcraft pets display fun animations when your character is standing still. But a few violent pets — Toxic Wasteling, Creepy Crate, Lil’ Phylactery, and Willy included — will actually kill any unlucky critters that wander near them.
The Creepy Crate above, for example, devours a chicken in bloody fashion, lets out a green burp, and then licks its lips.

Bambina (Grizzly Hills)
Call it a twisted take on the children’s classic Bambi: In Grizzly Hills, you’ll find a deer, Bambina, traveling with his mother, a rabbit named Thudder and a skunk named Flora.
Follow the group long enough and you’ll witness a scripted event where a hunter shoots and kills Bambina’s mom. This will give the young fawn the “Bambina’s Vengeance” buff, sending him into a murderous rage.

Vengeful Bambina, GO!
Seriously. Don’t get between a deer and his mom.

Challe’s Home for Little Tykes (Nagrand)
If you explore the mountains between Nagrand and Zangarmarsh near the Laughing Skull ruins, you’re likely to find an odd little orphanage named Challe’s Home for Little Tykes.
Venture behind Challe’s house and you’ll find a cage with human bones inside, suggesting that these adorable little kiddos are being raised as meat.

Gnome Atlantis (Tanaris)
It’s one of Azeroth’s biggest mysteries: Far off the southeastern coast of Tanaris, past the fatigue line, lies a sunken gnome village.
The area is uninhabited, and it appears there’s no way to actually explore it now without dying of fatigue. Still, its inexplicable existence continues to lure many curious adventurers to their watery graves.

The Elite Tauren Chieftain
Named for a real-life band featuring Blizzard employees, the Elite Tauren Chieftain are Azeroth’s most well known rock-and-rollers. You can find them playing their hit “Power of the Horde” in a variety of locations, but only at specific times.
The Elite Tauren Chieftain play every hour on the hour at the Darkmoon Faire when it’s in town. You can also catch them playing every three hours in Shattrath, and at 8:00 PM server time in the Grim Guzzler (Blackrock Depths).

Maw of the Void (Darkshore)
Typically, you’re better off avoiding massive suicidal jumps into whirlpools. But it’s definitely worth jumping into the Maw of the Void in Darkshore: It leads to a secret underground cavern, complete with its own quest and achievement.

The Demon Children of Goldshire (Elwynn)
Here’s what we know about the infamous demon children of Goldshire: There are six kids who spawn for only about an hour or two per day (typically around 7:00 server time), walking around Elwynn Forest in a tight pentagram formation.
They eventually travel to the second floor of the northernmost house in Goldshire. Spot them there, and the game’s music will change and a creepy sound file will play. You might hear a growl, wail, or even the disturbed whispers of old god C’Thun himself.
Terrifying.

Dr. Weavil (Dustwallow Marsh)
On the top floor of a building on Alcaz Island in Dustwallow Marsh, you’ll find Dr. Weavil, the most evil gnome mastermind Azeroth has ever known. Anyone who dares attack him will be mind controlled and turned into one of his well-dressed minions.
If you’re having trouble finding Dr. Weavil, it may be because you’ve already completed the Theramore scenario. If this is the case, look for Zidormi at the bridge near Theramore and ask to be phased back into Old Theramore. Then travel north to Alcaz Island to find Dr. Weavil.

Elwynn’s Exploding Sheep
Near the top of the Elwynn waterfall lives a sheep-herding gnome named Agee Tyler. But this is no ordinary flock: Attack the mechanical sheep Tekton, shown, and he’ll explode, often knocking your character right off the cliff.
Serves you right for slaughtering someone else’s sheep.

The Whispering Forest (Tirisfall Glades)
West of Deathknell, in the mountains of Tirisfall Glades, lies a ring of mushrooms. Every 15 minutes, creatures of the forest will all gather ’round this circle to watch fey dragons sing and put on a dazzling light show.

Lake Dumont (Feralas)
North of the Gordunni Outpost in Feralas, you’ll find a lake with a small island. There, you’ll find some burning buildings and a troupe of Alliance characters who seem oblivious to the devastation around them.
None of the NPCs offer quests, and they’re not hostile to Horde players. The area is simply meant to be a tribute to the Blizzard employees whom the NPCs are named after.

The Lost Hatch (Sholazar Basin)
In Sholazar Basin’s Bittertide Lake, you’ll find a small hatch with a glowing window. Mouseover the hatch and you’ll see a tooltip that reads “5 9 16 17 24 43.”
This Easter egg is a reference to the infamous recurring number sequence from the TV series Lost.

Azeroth’s Ghostly Denizens
Many World of Warcraft veterans know about Franclorn Forgewright, the ghostly former questgiver inside Blackrock Mountain, and a character you can only see when you’re dead. But he’s not the only ghostly NPC in Azeroth.
The courtyard of Undercity, for example, is haunted by a number of Lordaeron citizens who are invisible to the naked eye. Raven Hill in Duskwood, too, is filled with NPC spirits named Unseen. None of these will attack you — unless one of your area-of-effect attacks hits them first.

Westfall Chickens
This is, perhaps, the classic World of Warcraft Easter egg: Cluck at an in-game chicken long enough, and you’ll be rewarded with your own Westfall Chicken pet.
First, talk to Farmer Saldean in Westfall (or the undead William Saldean in Brill) and purchase Special Chicken Feed from him.
Then, find a chicken and start spamming the /cluck emote. Eventually, you will get a text reply stating the chicken “looks puzzled.”
Use the /cheer emote on the chicken, and it will turn from neutral to friendly. It will also offer a quest, though the exclamation mark may be hidden if you’re a high-level character.
Give the chicken the Special Chicken Feed to complete the quest, and you’ll be able to add the Westfall Chicken to your pet collection.

Kerrigan, Queen of Blades
In a nod to Blizzard Entertainment’s popular Starcraft franchise, Goblin Shredder machines all feature a picture of Kerrigan, Queen of Blades on their consoles.
