The $200 Gears of War 4 Xbox One Elite controller is now available to preorder. GameStop and Microsoft Stores, the controller’s exclusive retail partners, began accepting preorders today, July 20, at 1 PM ET.
Supply at GameStop is “limited” and preorders are expected to “go quickly,” a representative told GameSpot. You can secure a preorder right now at GameStop and the Microsoft Store.
The standard edition Xbox One Elite controllers were, for a time, very difficult to find. Microsoft said it didn’t anticipate the demand for the controllers. By its latest count, more than 1 million of the unique, transforming controllers have been made.
Announced at E3 2016, the Gears of War 4 Elite controller features Gears of War-themed thumbsticks, D-pads, and paddles. It also comes with a “unique” multiplayer lobby item and three Gear Packs that players can use in the game.
The controller arrives on October 4, a week before Gears of War 4 comes out on October 11.
If you’re not interested in the Elite controller but are looking for a special Xbox One pad themed around Gears of War 4, you still have options. Microsoft is launching a blood-splattered Gears of War 4 Xbox One controller and a JD Fenix-themed one in October.
Gears of War 4 is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning you can buy it (digitally) on Xbox One and get the Windows 10 PC version free or vice versa.
