6.0.2 Hotfixes: October 20

Here you'll find a list of hotfixes that address various issues related to the recently released World of Warcraft patch 6.0.2. Hotfixes are updates we make on our end without requiring you to download a new patch. Some of the hotfixes below take effect the moment they were implemented, while others may require your realm to be restarted to go into effect. Please keep in mind that some issues cannot be addressed without a client-side patch update. We will continue to update this list as additional hotfixes are applied.

Hallow's End

  • Exquisite Costume Set: "The Lich King" no longer has a Hallow's End requirement and costs 500 Tricky Treats to obtain (down from 1000). Note that we're aware of item tooltip on the vendor incorrectly displaying number of charges available on the item as 1.

  • Through a Glass, Darkly: Platforms should now spawn in correctly, allowing players to complete the quest.
  • Legendary Cloak Quest Line
    • The Thunder Forge: Sha Beast's Dark Bite ability should no longer deal an excessive amount of damage.

    • Raid Leader's lockout state will now always be used when entering a Siege of Orgrimmar Raid instance.
    • Spoils of Pandaria: Resolved an issue where Kor'kron Blood Axe would occasionally invite themselves to the encounter.
    • Resolved an issue where Tusks of Mannoroth was obtainable on Normal difficulty.
  • Throne of Thunder
    • Drakkari Frost Warden's Frost Bulwark ability should no longer absorb an excessive amount of damage.
    • Megaera: Venomous Head's Acid Rain ability should no longer deal an excessive amount of damage.
  • Dragon Soul
    • Spine of Deathwing's Blood of Deathwing effect should no longer be able to critically strike or Multistrike against players on Heroic difficulty.
    • Resolved a number of issues where some spells and abilities dealt an excessive amount of damage.
  • Icecrown Citadel
    • Professor Putricide's Mutated Plague ability should no longer deal an excessive amount of damage.
    • The Lich King's Ice Pulse ability should no longer deal an excessive amount of damage.
  • Ulduar
    • Algalon the Observer's melee damage has been reduced by 40%.
  • Black Temple
    • The Illidari Council: Lady Malande's Reflective Shield should no longer reflect back an excessive amount of damage.

    • Resolved an issue where characters in Spirit Form may be unable to interact with the Orb of Command to reenter the Raid instance.

Dungeons

  • Shado-Pan Monastery
    • Shado-Pan Disciples should no longer be following players around the dungeon after they have been defeated.
  • Blackrock Caverns
    • Karsh Steelbender's Heat Wave ability should no longer deal an excessive amount of damage.

    • Lady Naz'jar's Lightning Surge ability should no longer deal an excessive amount of damage.

    • Resolved a number of issues where some spells and abilities dealt an excessive amount of damage.

Battlegrounds and Arenas

    • Characters that have obtained the Gladiator: Season 15 achievement should now receive a Prideful Gladiator's Cloud Serpent in the mail.
    • Alchemist's Flask should no longer be usable while in an Arena match.

Professions

    • Peerless Stats should now correctly have a cast time and reagent cost.

Items

  • Ai-Li's Skymirror can no longer be used on players that with the Tree Disguise Kit transformation.

Bug Fixes

  • [Requires a realm restart.] Resolved an issue where damage-over-time effects applied by an NPC or creature that have despawned can deal an excessive amount of damage.

  • Dripping Willow's damage-over-time effect should no longer remove Frost Fever from the target.
  • Soothing Talisman of the Shadopan Assault now restores a more reasonable amount of Mana.

Raids

  • Siege of Orgrimmar
    • Blackfuse Shredders now have 40% less health.
    • Desecrated Weapon and Empowered Desecrated Weapon now deal less damage on Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic difficulty.
    • Reduced the amount of damage needed to break Touch of Y'Shaarj and Empowered Touch of Y'Sharrj's mind control.
    • Number of players affected by Touch of Y'Shaarj or Empowered Touch of Y'Sharrj is always 2 and no longer increases based on the Raid size on Normal and Heroic difficulty.
  • Throne of Thunder
    • Damage of Frost King Malakk's Frostbite ability has been reduced to a reasonable amount.
    • Lei Shen's Thunderstruck ability now deals less damage.
  • Ulduar
    • Elder Stonebark's Petrified Bark ability should no longer reflect an excessive amount of damage back at players.

Dungeons

  • Temple of the Jade Serpent: Strife and Peril's damage has been reduced to a reasonable amount.

Battlegrounds and Arenas

  • Arena Skirmishes now award more Honor Points to the winning team. The amount awarded will return to normal once the portal to Draenor opens. An explanation and details on this temporary change is available on the forums.

  • NPCs above level 90 should no longer appear in Strand of the Ancients, Alterac Valley, and Isle of Conquest.

Items

  • Food that gave a bonus to Hit should now give a bonus to Critical Strike.
  • Assurance of Consequence should now correctly reduce ability cooldowns for Survival Hunters.
  • Shadowmourne's Chaos Bane effect was granting too much Strength. The amount of Strength granted has been reduced to a more appropriate amount.
  • Tharbek's Brutal Posessor and Tharbek's Unholy Charge are now One-Handed swords (they were Main Hand only) and can be dual-wielded.
  • Reduced the Bonus Armor on a number of items that had too much Armor.
  • Resolved an issue where item enchants from expansions prior to Mists of Pandaria were scaling incorrectly and wound up being stronger than intended.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where Icethorn did not contain any items when harvested by Herbalists with a skill level above 435.

October 15

World Event: Iron Horde Incursion

  • Players are now able to accept the Iron Horde Invasion quest even if their Quest Logs are full.
  • Slightly thinned out Okril'lon patrols around Nethergarde Keep.
  • Resolved an issue where some Iron Horde Incursion quests were awarding items that had a level 100 requirement to equip or not awarding an item correctly.

Premade Groups

  • Forming Premade Groups for questing should no longer result in the interface selecting a Warlords of Draenor zone by default.
  • Resolved a number of interface issues when attempting to form a Premade Group for Random Pandaria Dungeons.

Toy Box

  • Characters should no longer automatically learn toys awarded from quests that are bind-on-equip (Sylvanas' Music Box, Muradin's Favor).

Classes

    • General
      • Blood Boil should no longer incorrectly grant Scent of Blood or Runic Power if it doesn't strike a target. Additionally, Blood Boil should no longer incorrectly cause diseases to spread back to the casting Death Knight.
    • Talents
      • Death Siphon should no longer heal for more than intended when used against targets that are much lower leveled than the casting Death Knight.
  • Mage
    • Frost
      • Fingers of Frost rate of activation for Frostbolt and Frostfire Bolt should now correctly factor in the bonus from using the glyphed version of Icy Veins.
  • Monk
    • Mistweaver
      • Revival's healing is no longer split amongst multiple party or raid members.

World Environment

  • Players are now automatically unflagged for PvP when they enter a PvE realm by joining a cross-realm group.
  • Creatures
    • [Requires a realm restart.] To better account for the changes to player health and ability scaling, we've reduced the health and damage of nearly all non-player creatures and NPCs on a level-by-level basis (larger reductions for lower-level creatures, in general).
    • The damage dealt by several of Ordos's abilities has been reduced.

Quests

  • Legendary Cloak Quest Line
    • [Requires a realm restart.] Heart of the Thunder King: Resolved an issue where players were not receiving Lei Shen's heart if they've already defeated them earlier in the week.

Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios

Raids

  • Siege of Orgrimmar
    • The Norushen encounter should now correctly have a 10 minute enrage timer on Raid Finder difficulty.
    • Sha of Pride should no longer use the Wounded Pride ability on Raid Finder difficulty.
    • Thok the Bloodthirsty should now properly drop Mythic tier armor tokens while on Mythic difficulty.
    • Damage of Stone Statue's Animated Strike ability has been squished.
    • Garrosh Hellscream now has 15% less health on Mythic difficulty.
    • Resolved an issue where an excessive number of items could drop at once from non-boss enemies in Siege of Orgrimmar when Personal Loot was enabled.
  • Throne of Thunder
    • Damage of Thunder Lord's Conductive Shield ability has been squished.
    • Damage of Lei Shen's Crashing Thunder ability has been squished.
  • Terrace of Endless Spring
    • Damage of Protectors of the Endless' Lightning Prison ability has been squished.
    • Damage of Apparition of Fear's Unleashed Terror ability has been squished.
  • Blackwing Lair
    • Self-healing of Ebonroc's Shadow of Ebonroc ability has been squished.

Scenarios

  • The Secrets of Ragefire: Damage for enemy spells and abilities in the Scenario have been squished.

Proving Grounds

  • Resolved an issue where characters that have completed the achievement: Proving Yourself: Endless Damage (Wave 30) (Level 90) were not retaining their titles.

PvP

  • Level 90 players now deal 25% less damage against other Level 90 players.

Battlegrounds and Arenas

  • [Requires a realm restart.] Resolved an issue where Battleground queues were not working correctly.

Items

  • Mists of Pandaria items that used to have a Valor Point cost, players should now be able to sell them back within the 2-hour window.
  • Jina-Kang, Kindness of Chi-Ji's Spirit of Chi'ji triggered ability should now correctly redistribute overhealing to nearby injured friends.
  • Resolved an issue that could cause items to lose their Transmogrification when zoning into a new area.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue that caused a LUA error when viewing quests that used to offer Justice or Valor Point rewards.
  • Resolved an issue where Deck Your Collection achievement was not converting into the correct version after a Faction Change.

World Event: Iron Horde Incursion

  • All quest boss NPCs in the Blasted Lands now have scaling health pools based on the number of players engaging them.
  • Spawn rates for mobs and NPCs in the Blasted Lands have been adjusted.
  • [Requires a realm restart.] Quest items for Mementos of the Fallen and Ransacking Nethergarde should now be tracked properly on the mini map.
  • The title, "of the Iron Vanguard" received from completing The Iron Invasion achievement is now account-wide.

Toy Box

  • Resolved an issue where the toy collection count was incorrectly increasing each time the character logs in.

    • Celestial Blessings: Adjusted the damage received by both the player and Wrathion during the challenges for Chi-ji (healer) and Niuzao (tanking) to a reasonable level.

    • Auction house NPCs in Siege of Orgrimmar should no longer be level 100.
    • Garrosh Hellscream's Iron Star explosion damage has been reduced to a more reasonable level in a post stat squish environment.
  • Throne of Thunder
    • Jin'rokh the Breaker's Static Wound damage has been reduced to a more reasonable level in a post stat squish environment.
    • Shadow Nova damage for Dark Ritualist and Ritual Guard has been reduced to a more reasonable level in a post stat squish environment.

Dungeons

  • Upper Blackrock Spire
    • Awbee should no longer spam their introduction after Commander Tharbek is defeated.
    • Resolved an issue where items were incorrectly disenchanting into Warlords of Draenor enchanting materials.
  • Shado-Pan Monastery
    • Gu Cloudstrike's Magnetic Shroud healing absorption has been reduced to a more reasonable amount.

Proving Grounds

  • Tank Trial NPCs now hit harder and have slightly more health.

Battlegrounds and Arenas

    • Resolved an issue where players were not receiving points for capturing a mine cart.

  • Players are now automatically unflagged for PvP when they enter a PvE realm by joining a cross-realm group.

    • [Requires a realm restart.] To better account for the changes to player health and ability scaling, we've reduced the health and damage of nearly all non-player creatures and NPCs on a level-by-level basis (larger reductions for lower-level creatures, in general).
    • The damage dealt by several of Ordos's abilities has been reduced.
    • [Requires a realm restart.] Reduced the health and damage of high level creatures and NPCs in Pandaria to more closely match their relative difficulty before the stat squish.
    • High Marshal Twinbraid should now be able to hit Horde players with explosions again.
    • Incarnation of Despair's Last Gasp now deals damage that is more reasonable level in a post stat squish environment.
    • Ishi's Corrupted Slash debuff should now be working correctly again.
    • Krakkanon's knockback abilities should be working correctly again.
    • Master Aitokk should no longer be offering the Oger Combat quest to players, because he's dead.
    • Sra'thik Drone and Sik'thik Venomspitter should now be able to use their Caustic Spray ability again.

  • To The Skies!: Taoshi should no longer despawn as soon as she arrives during Stage 4 of the scenario.
  • Legendary Cloak Quest Line
    • [Requires a realm restart.] Heart of the Thunder King: Resolved an issue where players were not receiving Lei Shen's heart if they've already defeated them earlier in the week.
    • Celestial Blessings: Adjusted the damage received by both the player and Wrathion during the challenges for Chi-ji (healer) and Niuzao (tanking) to a reasonable level.
    • Achievement: Chapter V: Judgment of the Black Prince should no longer incorrectly have a guild reputation requirement.

Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios

Raids

  • Resolved an issue in Personal Loot mode where multiple players were unable to loot a boss or chest at the same time.
  • Siege of Orgrimmar
    • The Norushen encounter should now correctly have a 10 minute enrage timer on Raid Finder difficulty.
    • Sha of Pride should no longer use the Wounded Pride ability on Raid Finder difficulty.
    • Auction house NPCs in Siege of Orgrimmar should no longer be level 100.
    • Thok the Bloodthirsty should now be dropping Tier armor tokens for the correct difficulty level.
    • Thok the Bloodthirsty should now properly drop Mythic tier armor tokens while on Mythic difficulty.
    • Damage of Stone Statue's Animated Strike ability has been squished.
    • Automated Shredders now have 40% less health.
    • Garrosh Hellscream now has 15% less health on Mythic difficulty.
    • Garrosh Hellscream's Iron Star explosion damage has been reduced to a more reasonable level in a post stat squish environment.
    • Desecrated Weapon and Empowered Desecrated Weapon now deal less damage on Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic difficulty.
    • Reduced the amount of damage needed to break Touch of Y'Shaarj and Empowered Touch of Y'Sharrj's mind control.
    • Number of players affected by Touch of Y'Shaarj or Empowered Touch of Y'Sharrj is always 2 and no longer increases based on the Raid size on Normal and Heroic difficulty.
    • Resolved an issue where an excessive number of items could drop at once from non-boss enemies in Siege of Orgrimmar when Personal Loot was enabled.

    • Shadow Nova damage for Dark Ritualist and Ritual Guard has been reduced to a more reasonable level in a post stat squish environment.
    • Quet'zal, the Stormcaller's Frost Spike knockback should now be working correctly on Heroic difficulty.
    • Resolved a number of issues with boss abilities that were not working correctly on the Twin Consorts encounter.
    • Damage of Thunder Lord's Conductive Shield ability has been squished.
    • Lei Shen's Thunderstruck ability now deals less damage.

    • Gu Cloudstrike's Magnetic Shroud healing absorption has been reduced to a more reasonable amount.
  • Mogu'shan Palace
    • Kargesh Highguard's Hurl Shield ability should now work properly.
  • Temple of the Jade Serpent
    • Strife and Peril's damage has been reduced to a reasonable amount.
  • The Stonecore: High Priestess Azil's Force Grip ability has been temporarily disabled.
  • [Requires a realm restart.] Utgarde Pinnacle: Skadi the Ruthless should require 3 harpoons to knock them off their mount once more.

Scenarios

  • [Requires a realm restart.] Arena of Annihilation: Reduce the damage of Little Liuyang's Fireball to a more reasonable amount.
  • Brewmoon Festival: Resolved an issue where Li Te's Water Shell was not popping when they are brought to a Waterspout.
  • The Secrets of Ragefire: Damage for enemy spells and abilities in the Scenario have been squished.

Proving Grounds

  • Tank Trial NPCs now hit harder and have slightly more health.
  • Resolved an issue where characters that have completed the achievement: Proving Yourself: Endless Damage (Wave 30) was not retaining their titles.

PvP

  • Level 90 players now deal 25% less damage against other Level 90 players.

Battlegrounds and Arenas

Arenas

  • Arena Skirmishes now award more Honor Points to the winning team. The amount awarded will return to normal once the portal to Draenor opens. An explanation and details on this temporary change is available on the forums.
  • Resolved an issue that could cause Mages and Hunters in an Arena match to incorrectly drop out of Invisibility or Camouflage.

Battlegrounds

  • Battlegrounds now award more Honor Points. The amount awarded will return to normal once the portal to Draenor opens.
  • NPCs above level 90 should no longer appear in Strand of the Ancients, Alterac Valley, and Isle of Conquest.

  • Deepwind Gorge
    • Resolved an issue where players were not receiving points for capturing a mine cart.
  • Warsong Gulch
    • Capturing a flag should award reputation once more.

Items

  • Food that gave a bonus to Hit should now give a bonus to Critical Strike.
  • Mists of Pandaria items that used to have a Valor Point cost, players should now be able to sell them back within the 2-hour window.
  • Reduced the Bonus Armor on a number of items that had too much Armor.
  • Assurance of Consequence should now correctly reduce ability cooldowns for Survival Hunters.
  • Bloodsoaked Chitin Fragment's Bloodseeker's Fury effect has been toned down to a more reasonable amount.
  • Dripping Willow's damage-over-time effect should no longer remove Frost Fever from the target.
  • Jina-Kang, Kindness of Chi-Ji's Spirit of Chi'ji triggered ability should now correctly redistribute overhealing to nearby injured friends.
  • Shadowmourne's Chaos Bane effect was granting too much Strength. The amount of Strength granted has been reduced to a more appropriate amount.
  • Soothing Talisman of the Shadopan Assault now restores a more reasonable amount of Mana.
  • Tharbek's Brutal Posessor and Tharbek's Unholy Charge are now One-Handed swords (they were Main Hand only) and can be dual-wielded.
  • [Requires a realm restart.] The Twin Blades of Azzinoth's set bonus now gives a more reasonable bonus to Haste.
  • [Requires a realm restart.] Variable Pulse Lightning Capacitor's Electrical Charge effect should no longer be dealing an excessive amount of damage.
  • Resolved an issue that could cause Raid Finder, Heroic, and Mythic items from Siege of Orgrimmar to become Normal quality items.
  • Resolved an issue where item enchants from expansions prior to Mists of Pandaria were scaling incorrectly and wound up being stronger than intended.
  • Resolved an issue that could cause items to lose their Transmogrification when zoning into a new area.
  • Resolved an issue where Tier tokens obtained from Mists of Pandaria Raids could not be exchanged for gear.
  • Resolved an issue where Dame Evniki Kapsalis was incorrectly selling Heirloom items for gold instead of Champion's Seals.
  • Resolved an issue where Nat Pagle was incorrectly selling Draenic or Savage Fishing Poles.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where players were taking more damage than intended while under a mind control effect.
  • Resolved an issue where Boosted Characters were unable to learn some Talents.
  • Resolved an issue where favorited mounts in the Mount Journal may not display the favorite status properly.
  • Resolved an issue where Icethorn did not contain any items when harvested by Herbalists with a skill level above 435.
  • Resolved an issue that caused a LUA error when viewing quests that used to offer Justice or Valor Point rewards.
  • Resolved an issue where Deck Your Collection achievement was not converting into the correct version after a Faction Change.
