Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have revealed the first gameplay trailer for Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, the next entry in the turn-based Pokemon spinoff series for 3DS.
Judging by the trailer, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon looks very much like previous games in the series, with players exploring randomly generated dungeons as a team composed out of 20 playable pokemon.
Super Mystery Dungeon will launch for 3DS in North America this winter.
The most recent entry in the series was Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, which was released in the west in 2013. In a 5/10 review, critic Heidi Kemps wrote: “It’s as cute as a button, but dull, simplistic dungeon exploration drags Gates to Infinity into mediocrity.” Nintendo also recently revealed that the series sold more than 13 million copies worldwide.
