Blizzard Entertainment will make a “momentous” announcement about its free-to-play card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft later today, and you can watch the reveal event live right here.
The event itself is being held in San Francisco at the Folsom Street Foundry and kicks off at 2:30 PM PDT / 5:30 PM EDT. It’s open to the public, but Blizzard warns that space is limited. Those interested in attending in person can visit this Facebook event page for more details.
Everyone else can watch the event unfold live on Twitch in the video embed below. Game director Eric Dodds will be on hand to, among other things, make “one momentous announcement.”
Hearthstone’s most recent major expansion was Blackrock Mountain, which launched in April, and included more than two dozen new cards. A new mode called Tavern Brawl was released in June. Another expansion is one possibility for today’s reveal.
Though this has not been confirmed, it would not be surprising to learn that Blizzard is planning to support the game with more content. After all, the game is a big money-maker and has more than 30 million players presumably eager for more content.
GameSpot will be reporting live from the Hearthstone event this afternoon, and then speaking with Dodds about the announcement. Check back this afternoon for lots more.
