Several free weekend events have begun on Steam, allowing you play four different games for free on Steam until Sunday, August 30.
The newest game of the bunch is Ark: Survival Evolved, the dinosaur game that has already proven to be quite popular. It remains in early access; this weekend will let you try it out without having to spend a dime, which should help you to decide whether it’s far enough long to warrant a purchase. Unlike the other free weekend events, however, this one doesn’t include the usual discount on the full game, as it remains $30.
Next up is the Company of Heroes franchise, Relic’s excellent World War II RTS games. With a new standalone expansion out soon for Company of Heroes 2, both Company of Heroes and its sequel are free to play right now. The full versions of both games are also 75 percent off; that brings the original down to $2.49 and CoH 2 to $10.
Finally, Mount & Blade: Warband (along with its expansions) is free right now. The full version is discounted by 66 percent, bringing it down to $6.79.
All of these games can be played as much as you want for free from now until August 30 at 10 AM PDT. The sale prices are available for one more day, running until August 31 at 10 AM PDT. In order to play for free, all you need is a Steam account. You’ll find links to all four games on Steam below:
