One year ago today, EA Maxis released The Sims 4. To celebrate the game’s first birthday, EA has released an infographic with a handful of statistics, the most notable one of which is 93 million Sims created in the game’s first twelve months. That’s equal to the combined population of Spain, Canada, and Sweden.
Some other statistics include 5,00,000 deaths, 184,000 of which were caused by Cow Plants. You can see some Sims 4 first-year statistics below, while the full infographic is available here. However, EA has not shared a new sales number for the game.
Accompanying the infographic was a new blog post from EA Maxis GM Rachel Franklin.
“Your feedback and passion have made the first year of The Sims 4 a great one and will help make the next year even better,” she said, teasing that the developer has “so much great stuff planned” for the future. This includes the upcoming Get Together expansion pack, due out for PC in November.
“Again, I can’t tell you enough how much we at Maxis appreciate your support for The Sims 4,” Franklin said. “We’ve had a really, really exciting year. The Sims 4 is going to keep getting bigger and better every month, and we love having you along with us on this journey.”
2015 also marks the 15th anniversary of the Sims franchise overall. We spoke with Maxis developers about the milestone; you can read our interview here.
