Destiny‘s highly anticipated 2.0 update is due to arrive today, September 8. The update is not yet available, but Bungie community manager David “Deej” Dague says it should go live sometime this morning PDT.
“I’d love to be more specific, but the work belongs to others,” he explained, adding that the full Destiny 2.0 patch notes–which he says are “long”–will be shared sometime soon. For now, you can check out this outline of the key takeaways. You can also read GameSpot’s roundup of everything you need to know.
Destiny’s 2.0 update increases the game’s level cap, adds a new Mercy Rule to Crucible matches, and introduces a Quest menu, among many other things. What’s more, Bungie recently announced that everyone will get to try The Taken King’s new PvP content (two game modes and eight maps) free for one week only, beginning today, September 8.
The Taken King, meanwhile, launches on September 15 across all platforms. You can watch the latest cinematic trailer for the expansion above, while we’ll have more about it in the coming days.
