In addition to announcing Phase 3 of Marvel’s movie schedule today, Disney has adjusted the release date for Pixar’s Toy Story 4 and confirmed when The Incredibles 2, another Pixar film, will hit theaters.
Toy Story 4, which is going to be a love story about Woody and Bo Peep (among other things), will open on June 15, 2018, according to Deadline. That represents a one-year delay from its previously scheduled release in June 2017. Taking Toy Story 4‘s original slot is Cars 3, the latest movie about cars that can talk.
The other piece of big Pixar animated movie news today is that The Incredibles 2 finally has a release date–but it’s not anytime soon. The movie will open in theaters on June 21, 2019. It’s been a long time coming for fans of the original, as that movie came to theaters in November 2004. Assuming The Incredibles 2 stays on schedule, it will arrive some 15 years after the first one.
Pixar veteran Brad Bird, who directed the original–as well as the 1991 Simpsons episode “Like Father, Like Clown”–is attached to direct The Incredibles 2. Details about the plot are being kept under wraps for now.
In other Disney movie news, Marvel’s Ant-Man is getting a sequel in 2018.
