Halo 5: Guardians is already out, but Microsoft hasn’t stopped promoting the Xbox One game. On last night’s episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski dressed up as Master Chief in a very funny Halloween segment that doesn’t hide the fact that it’s an ad. In fact, the video embraces that fact–and it works quite well.
“You can’t just come on my show and do product placement for Halo 5: Guardians,” Colbert quips, before turning to the camera and saying “now exclusively available from Microsoft’s Xbox One.”
Gronk may not be the best actor, but this spot is pretty hilarious, especially the part where the little girl mentions Gronk’s less-than-excellent stats in the recent game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Over the summer, Gronk revealed that he hasn’t spent a penny of his NFL earnings. Instead, he’s so far relied only on all the money he’s made from his marketing deals, like this one.
Halo 5 launched on October 27 exclusively for Xbox One. For more, check out GameSpot’s review and what other critics are saying.
