Mortal Kombat X DLC Character Reveal Teased for Later This Week

Mortal Kombat series creator Ed Boon has teased that this week’s Game Awards will contain a character reveal for Mortal Kombat X. Writing on Twitter today, Boon said viewers can look forward to seeing “Who’s next” in the fighting game during the event, which will be held Thursday, December 3.

“Who’s next” is the terminology developer NetherRealm has used in the past to preface character reveals.

Back in September, NetherRealm announced that more Mortal Kombat X DLC characters would be released in the first half of 2016. Presumably the reveal on Thursday will be one of the silhouetted characters in the teaser above.

The Game Awards air at 6 PM PST / 9 PM EST on December 3. Show organizers have promised 10 total “world premieres” for the event. GameSpot will have all the news and trailers from the show for you as they’re released.

Mortal Kombat X was originally released in April 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. DLC characters released so far have included Jason Voorhees, Predator, Tanya, and Tremor.

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the fighting game have been canceled.
