Although you’d probably want to use Rico’s parachute and wingsuit to help you travel across Just Cause 3‘s world, one player decided to walk instead. The trip took him over eight hours to complete.
YouTuber TheyCallMeConor walks across open world video game maps all the time, posting the results to YouTube when he’s finished. Walking from one end of Rico’s home country of Medici to the other took Conor eight hours and 40 minutes, which can be seen in the timelapse video above (via Kotaku).
For comparison, a trip across seven Grand Theft Auto games had Conor walking for a little longer than six hours, while Fallout 4 was a comparably breezy 56 minute stroll.
Conor’s walks don’t take factors like movement speed into account, but an almost nine hour walk paints a good picture of how big Just Cause 3’s map is.
Just Cause 3’s loading doesn’t take quite as long as Conor’s walk, but players will be happy to know that a patch that’s supposed to “significantly” improve the loading times is rolling out today.
