Daredevil season two sees Charlie Cox return as the blind lawyer turned superhero, with Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Rosario Dawson, and Scott Glenn all reprising their roles from season one. New to the cast are Jon Bernthal and Elodie Yung, playing The Punisher and Elektra.
In a recent interview with Collider, Cox discussed the complexities of the characters, and how it differed from many superhero movies and shows. “What the writers do, and we hopefully can bring to life, is that they present characters who, on the surface, aren’t always heroic and their acts aren’t always devoid of selfishness,” he explained.
“Matt Murdock, at times, is incredibly selfish,” Cox continued. “He can be very one-track minded. He believes something is the way that it should be, and that this is how it needs to be dealt with. He doesn’t care what other people think. He doesn’t care what Foggy thinks.
“Hopefully, we ask the question of ourselves, what makes a hero?”
All 13 episodes of Daredevil season two hit Netflix on March 1, 2015.
