Star Wars Battlefront’s Outer Rim Expansion Gets First Image, More Details

Star Wars Battlefront got a big new update today, but that’s not all Electronic Arts announced. The publisher also shared a piece of art for Battlefront’s upcoming Outer Rim expansion, which is the first paid expansion for the Star Wars shooter. Check it out below.

EA also confirmed a few more details about what’s included with Outer Rim.

It comes with more maps, weapons, heroes, and an “all-new mode.” The content will take you to places like factories on Sullust and Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tattooine. No further details about the new mode were divulged. We also do not yet know a specific release date for Outer Rim.

In addition, EA reiterated today in a blog post that all Battlefront players can expect new updates in March, whether they buy Outer Rim or not.

At least three further expansions will follow: Bespin (summer 2016), Death Star (fall 2016), and an untitled offering coming in early 2017.

Battlefront launched in November 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It shipped more than 13 million copies, outpacing EA’s own projections. According to EA, multiple sequels are in development.
