Rockstar Games has detailed the upcoming Cunning Stunts update for Grand Theft Auto V‘s multiplayer mode. The update, which was announced in May, will launch for GTA Online this coming Tuesday, July 12, Rockstar announced on its website today.
Featured in the update are new Stunt Races, which look pretty wild. These will involve players racing through loops and tubes, or zipping off ramps with superspeed thanks to boosts. Players will also drive through massive rings of fire on the courses, which are set in the Los Santos skyline, high above the ground.
“The jumps, gaps, terrain, and obstacles in each Race are tailored to match the attributes of specific vehicle classes, including new Super cars, Sports cars and Motorbikes,” Rockstar explained. “And of course, racing livery-clad vehicles deserve appropriately tatted and dressed drivers, sporting new motocross gear, racing suits, helmets and a host of other additions.”
More details on the Cunning Stunts update will be announced in the days ahead. For now, you can get a closer look through the video above and the image gallery below.
Cunning Stunts is one of the “massive, feature-rich” updates for GTA Online that Rockstar announced in May. Another was Further Adventures in Finance and Felony, which came out in June.
In addition to these two updates, Rockstar said even more are coming that will add things like additional Adversary modes. Rockstar also mentioned that players can expect more weekly events like the one happening right now. As part of these events, Rockstar offers extra RP and GTA$ for participating in certain playlists, though there was no mention of the modes that will offer bonuses in the future.
In other news about GTA Online, documents in the Leslie Benzies vs. Take-Two lawsuit revealed that the multiplayer mode has already brought in more than $500 million in revenue from microtransactions.
Single-player DLC for GTA V is still under consideration, but the big numbers for GTA Online may explain why Rockstar appears to be prioritizing multiplayer content at this time.
