Square Enix has revealed what appears to be the final version of Final Fantasy XV‘s box art.
The company’s own online store published images of the art; though they’ve since been removed, DualShockers captured them. As you can see, Noctics (wielding his massive sword) stands in the middle, flanked by his pals. We also see the front of their car, the Regalia. As announced previously, the car plays a major role in the game. Additionally, the clouds in the air above are equal parts ominous and awesome-looking. Check it out:
If you don’t like this art, you may be happy to learn that Final Fantasy XV’s cover is reversible. The other side is simpler, featuring the game’s logo over black, according to DualShockers.
Another thing to note is that this box art is only for North America. The Japanese version of Final Fantasy XV’s box art is pretty striking as well, but in a different way. Cover art for Europe has not yet been revealed.
The Final Fantasy XV release date has been confirmed as September 30, 2016. It will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while Square Enix is “thinking about a PC version.” If the RPG does come to PC, fans should not expect this version to launch alongside the console editions in September, if it happens at all.
Just this week, Square Enix released a new Final Fantasy XV “Universe” trailer that highlighted the game, as well as the upcoming Kingsglaive movie, the Brotherhood anime, and the tie-in mobile pinball game, Justice Monsters Five. You can watch the trailer here.
