Warhammer 40,000: Regicide Launches on Mobile, Exclusive Faction Available For Free In First Week

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide hits the Google Play Store today, publisher Hammerfall Publishing has announced. Hammerfall has launched a countdown clock online, which ticks down to the moment the game launches. At the time of writing, it’s sitting at the two hour mark.

The mobile version includes support for cross-platform multiplayer, universal accounts, new board layouts, asynchronous networking, and unique faction abilities. In addition, Regicide players who log in over the next seven days following launch will receive the exclusive White Scars Space Marine faction for free. This includes users who already own the game on PC via Steam.

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide is a new take on chess, with an epic Warhammer setting. Regicide’s primary gameplay has two modes:

  • Regicide: where you “plan an attack and command your soldiers through multiple phases of combat.”
  • Classic: where you “sharpen your tactics based on traditional chess rules, brutally executing violent kills in diverse battlefield terrains.”
