Bandai Namco Europe today laid out its plans for Gamescom 2016, confirming that it will show off some of its existing games and also announce something brand-new.
In a news release, Bandai Namco confirmed that it will bring this year’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and 2017’s Tekken 7 to the show for the public to play.
Perhaps more interesting, however, is the news that Bandai Namco will reveal a new IP “for a western audience” during Gamescom 2016. No further details are available, though Bandai Namco marketing boss Herve Hoerdt said about this game, “We are very excited!”
Speaking about the three games, he said all are “very interesting.”
GameSpot will be reporting live from Gamescom 2016 in Germany next month to bring you all the news; the show runs August 18-24.
In other Gamescom news, Microsoft recently announced that, unlike last year, it will not hold a briefing at the 2016 event. Sony skipped the show last year, but it remains to be seen if it will hold a briefing this year. Electronic Arts, meanwhile, held a presentation at Gamescom 2015, but the publisher has not announced plans for this year’s event.

It’s not mentioned in Bandai Namco’s Gamescom news release, but one of its biggest games, Dark Souls III, is getting two DLC packs; the first of these will launch this year. Additionally, developer From Software confirmed back in April that it was working on a new IP, though nothing has tied this to Bandai Namco’s Gamescom announcement.
