[UPDATE] The Trials of the Blood Dragon demo is now available through the UPlay store. You have until July 31 to give it a shot and get yourself a free copy of the game if you complete it in 15 faults or less. The original story follows.
If you’ve wanted to check out Trials of the Blood Dragon, you can download a demo of it for PC later this month. And hey, if you can prove you’re pretty dang good at it, Ubisoft will give you a free copy of the game.
The demo launches on July 22 through UPlay. If you complete it with no more than 15 faults, your reward is a free version of the full game. The demo will also have leaderboards, but it doesn’t sound like you’ll get anything special for sitting at the top.
Trials of the Blood Dragon is also available on PS4 and Xbox One, but the demo challenge won’t be available on those platforms.
Trials of the Blood Dragon is a crossover of the Trials series and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The Trials games most often have players driving a dirtbike through increasingly difficult levels, while Blood Dragon featured the gameplay of Far Cry 3 in an ’80s-inspired cyberpunk world.
GameSpot critic Justin Clark reviewed Trials of the Blood Dragon. He gave the crossover a score of 7 and said, “You will have to contend with boredom during a few unremarkable levels, but the game’s fun, mind-boggling stages leave the strongest impression. Whatever mad genius decided to smash the two series together should be commended: the mix is mostly a successful one, and where it fails, it’s at least failure in favor of trying something new.”
