StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm is just around the corner, and with it, you'll discover a host of new opportunities to customize the look and feel of your StarCraft II experience. Previously, we detailed how you can earn experience points and customization rewards through the Heart of the Swarm leveling system by playing Matchmaking and Custom Games. This time, we'd like to take a look at the different types of rewards that are up for grabs.
Character Portraits and Decals
Character portraits have always been an exciting way to show off your StarCraft II accomplishments, and Heart of the Swarm will allow you even more opportunities to inject some attitude into your profile. Once the game launches, you'll find the reward section of your profile page loaded with a bevy of brand new portraits, ready and waiting to be unlocked as you progress through the leveling system.
We've also added tons of epic new decal rewards that you can proudly display on your structures in-game. It's worth noting that all of these new portraits and decals are additions to the existing reward pool, and will not be replacing those found in Wings of Liberty.
Unit Skins and Dances
Heart of the Swarm will also feature two exciting new reward types that you can bring with you directly to the battlefield: unit skins and dance animations. Currently, dance animations can be unlocked at levels 10, 15, and 20, while unit skins become available at levels 20 and 30.
If you've ever felt that your army could use more attitude, the skins above will have your opponents trembling at the mere sight of your opening gambit. Those of you who would prefer to spruce up your main base can avoid supply blocks in style with the skins found below.
Finally, we'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that even StarCraft units need a break for some R&R. Perfect for any occasion, these community-inspired dances will get your army's toes tapping and are just the thing for celebrating your victories on the battlefield.
Now that you've had a sneak peek at some the new customization rewards, what are you most excited to unlock once you log in to StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm on March 12? Let us know in the comment section below.
