The previously confirmed new modes for Respawn Entertainment’s multiplayer shooter Titanfall will not be locked behind a paygate, cofounder Vince Zampella said on Twitter. These modes will be release for free to all players, instead of being bundled with the game’s DLC.

“DLC is in the works, not quite done yet though,” Zampella said. “Modes we release will be free to all, not part of DLC.”

Titanfall’s $25 DLC pass includes access to three expansion packs. Standalone expansions will sell for $10 each, Zampella revealed, meaning you’ll pay a $5 premium if you buy them individually. There’s no word yet on when the first expansion will launch.

Finally, Zampella also said on Twitter that private matches are coming “soon” to Titanfall and that players can expect double XP weekends sometime in the future.

Titanfall launched March 11 for Xbox One and PC. The Xbox 360 version was recently delayed and is now expected to arrive on April 8. Beyond that, we heard last week at GDC that Electronic Arts had secured the rights to publish Titanfall 2, which might not be exclusive to Microsoft platforms.
