"Mario Maker" 3DS Game Potentially Spotted on E3 Show Floor

Nintendo might be working on a make-your-own Mario game for the 3DS, which could be announced next week during E3 2014, if a new report is to be believed.

Nintendo Enthusiast has obtained an “alleged picture” reportedly from Nintendo’s booth on the E3 show floor that features what appears to be a new 3DS game called Mario Maker. Going off the image, it looks like this game will allow you to create your own Mario-themed levels using the 3DS stylus.

There’s no explanation as to how Nintendo Enthusiast obtained the image, which appears to be taken by a camera phone. Nintendo’s booth at E3 is constructed before the show kicks off, so it’s possible someone got into the building and snapped a photo without Nintendo’s knowledge.

Past Nintendo games, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii, have included level editors. If Mario Maker is indeed real, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out about it. Nintendo’s E3 briefing takes place on Tuesday, June 10, at 9 a.m. PDT.
