The votes are in and Boston Bruins center Patrice Bergeron is the cover star for NHL 15, this year’s installment in EA Sports’ professional hockey franchise. After more than 10 million votes, Bergeron beat out Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban to claim victory.
As you might expect, Bergeron is overjoyed at the selection. “Being featured on the cover of NHL 15 is a dream come true,” Bergeron said in a statement. “The fact that the cover is selected entirely by fans is an incredible feeling. The passion and support from hockey fans, especially Bruins fans, is unlike any other sport and I’m so grateful to everyone who voted for me.”
NHL 15 launches September 9 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. The current-generation versions of the game contain numerous features, like true collision physics for all 12 players on the ice, not found in the last-generation iterations of the game.
