In a brief video showing off Link in action, we watching him swinging the Master Sword while blocking with the trational Hyrule Shield, but he's also able to weild all the regular Monster Hunter weapons. The trailer started with the Legend of Zelda theme, so Monster Hunter fans may be treated to the music from Nintendo's game as well.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is the Western release of Japan’s Monster Hunter 4G. It will feature online as well as local wireless multiplayer, and is set to release exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in early 2015. Nintendo has mentioned before that they want to bring the characters to more platforms, and this seems like the kind of crossover fans can definitely get behind. Link is also appearing in a non-typical Zelda game later this year, Hyrule Warriors. That game will use characters weapons and items from the Zelda universe, but it incorporates Dynasty Warriors gameplay.

Emanuel Maiberg is a freelance writer.
