Civilization Dev Opening Its Doors for First-Ever Firaxicon, Tickets On Sale Now

Civilization series developer Firaxis Games has announced that it will hold its first-ever “Firaxicon”–an official gathering to celebrate all things Firaxis Games–on September 27 and September 28. The event will take place at the Embassy Suites Baltimore, and you can buy tickets–said to be “strictly limited”–today for $40.

Firaxicon attendees will get to meet and greet some of the members of the Firaxis Games team, and a special “Evening with Sid Meier” presentation will be held. You’ll also get to play the upcoming PC game Civilization: Beyond Earth and get a tour of the Firaxis Games office.

The special, two-day event will also include “hours” of panels and presentations focused on Firaxis Games. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to play board games against (and alongside) Firaxis Games designers, and everyone who attends will leave with unique Firaxicon swag.

Your $40 Firaxicon ticket gets you into the event, dinner and drinks during the “Firaxis Feast,” and the aforementioned Firaxicon swag. You need to buy tickets in advance, as they will not be sold at the door. If you’re under 18, you’ll need to be accompanied by an adult.

If you’re travelling to the event and need a place to stay, a limited number of discounted rooms are available for $119/night. You can book them at the special price through this link. More information about Firaxicon can be found at the event’s website.

Other big-name developers that hold their own events include World of Warcraft creator Blizzard Entertainment (BlizzCon) and Minecraft studio Mojang (Minecon).
