Bungie Holding Public Destiny Launch Party Next Week

To mark the release of Destiny, developer Bungie is opening its doors to fans for a special one-day community celebration where anyone can get a tour of the studio, talk with developers, and even challenge them in multiplayer. The studio has even put together a slick video (above) to hype the event.

“The launch of Destiny is imminent. For years, we’ve been dreaming of a world where you would be a unique hero. As those dreams become a reality, we’d love to celebrate with you,” Bungie writes on its website. “The development of Destiny has been a long journey. So many of you have come along with us for what has been one hell of a ride. At the end of that road, some of you may find what you’ve been looking for in our studio.”

The event kicks off at Bungie’s headquarters on Monday, September 9 at 12 noon PDT and runs through 5 PM that day. All are invited, and you’re advised to park at the Galleria Garage and take public transportation to Bungie’s office, located at 550 106th Ave. in Bellevue, Washington 98004.

Bungie says the first 300 attendees “stand a good chance” of getting a studio tour and having the opportunity to square off against developers in a Destiny multiplayer match. Meanwhile, the first 1,000 in attendance “won’t leave empty-handed,” Bungie teased.

“This will be a day of celebrating the vivid community that will bring the world of Destiny to life,” Bungie said. “Come and pay us a visit before the real party begins.”

Destiny launches September 9 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4. Retailer GameStop recently announced plans to open 4,100 stores next week for midnight launch celebrations. For more on Destiny, check out GameSpot’s previous coverage.
