AU New Releases: Destiny launches for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PS3

This week in Australian games, highly anticipated first-person shooter Destiny will be launching for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

The game comes from Halo developer Bungie and features a persistent area which acts as a hub for players to return to after each mission. In addition to choosing a race, players will be able to step into the role of one of three classes: warlock, hunter, or titan. Each class offers something unique in combat. For more about each class, check out our guide on how to choose the one that’s best for you.

The official Australian Destiny midnight launch event will be hosted at EB Games in Liverpool. Activities will commence from 9pm AEST tonight and include a live DJ, caricature artist, and green screen photo booth. The game itself will be available for pick-up from 12:01am.

When speaking about the estimated time length of the game, Bungie has said that players may never truly “finish” Destiny. This would tie in with allegations from the developer that the game’s six-player raid missions are going to be so tough that players will need assistance from the internet.
