Rocksmith 2014 Edition, which launched last fall for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, is coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Ubisoft announced the news today, saying the game–which it describes as the “fastest way to learn guitar”–will launch November 4 for those new platforms.
The new versions of Rocksmith 2014 feature a range of updates and improvements over the last-generation counterparts, the first of which is resolution. Both the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game will run in 1080p, and Ubisoft says the higher resolution not only makes the game look better, but you’ll be better able to see the notes as they pass by on-screen.
Rocksmith 2014 for Xbox One and PS4 also make use of each console’s integrated streaming and video capture features. This is a welcome addition for a music game such as Rocksmith, Ubisoft says, “because no one becomes a rock god without an audience.”
In addition, the PS4 version of Rocksmith 2014 includes Remote Play support for the PlayStation Vita, allowing you to hone your guitar skills when you’re away from the TV.
Regarding the songs included with Rocksmith 2014, you’ll get more than 50 tracks. And if you already own the game for Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, you can import your songs across systems–but only within the same console family. This means Xbox 360 to Xbox One transfers are supported, but not Xbox 360 to PS3 or PS3 to Xbox One.
Finally, Rocksmith 2014 for Xbox One and PS4, like the past-generation versions, ships with the “real tone cable,” which converts your guitar’s signal from analog to digital, allowing it to work on console.
