The third Bungie Bounty–the weekly event where Destiny players get to face off against the game’s creators–takes place tonight on PlayStation 4.
A team of six Bungie staffers–consisting of testers, designers, and an engineer–will be playing online tonight, October 2, from 7-8 PM PT. You’ll find them in the Crucible’s Control mode, and like previous weeks, defeating them will mean earning yourself an exclusive emblem.
Bungie’s teams have already been beaten, but this particular lineup might prove to be more challenging than those in the past. A post on the developer’s blog talks up the skill of one of tonight’s competitors, designer Kevin Yanes. “There are trained killers at Bungie who keep our designers honest,” the blog reads. “They rule our playtest labs with iron fists that wield controllers with deadly accuracy. Before he ascended the ranks to help create the Crucible experience, Kevin was among the deadliest of them.”
This is the group of six you’ll want to face off against:
- theTocom — Kevin Yanes, Designer
- pointcow — John Harris, PVP Tester
- mantis_prime — Derek Carroll, Senior Designer
- IIPumperII — Nico Long, Engineer
- tkblingx2 — Tomonori Kinoshita, Designer
- daniel_Out — Daniel Auchenpaugh, Investment Test Lead
So far, Bungie Bounty events have been limited to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions. Bungie has indicated these will take place on all platforms, but there is no word yet on when they might happen on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.
The latest update for Destiny, patch 1.0.2, went live earlier this week, changing up the way Engrams work and tweaking some aspects of the Crucible. You can get the full rundown here and in the video above.
