Alien: Isolation was just released earlier this week, but several modders have managed to unlock native Oculus Rift support for the game. According to a post on NeoGAF, owners of the game can modify “a few ini files” and launch the executable file with “some command line options” to enable VR support. The post credits Reddit users popcorncrackle, hagg87, and Wookiee81 for the information.
Although Sega has demonstrated Alien: Isolation on the Oculus Rift in the past, the game did not officially launch with support for VR. Reports of DLC issues have also surfaced, although Sega has responded that it is aware of the issue and working on a fix.
Alien: Isolation launched on October 7 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. For what we thought of the game, check out our review, or read what other critics are saying.
