Xbox One-Exclusive Sunset Overdrive Preorder and DLC Includes More Crazy Weapons

Xbox One-exclusive Sunset Overdrive has gone gold and is now available to preorder and pre-download via Xbox Live.

Developer Insomniac Games announced that the stylized open-world shooter’s Day One Items include a Fizzie outfit and two new weapons: Nothin’ but the Hits, an overcharged version of the vinyl-slinging High Fidelity gun, and Hardcore! Hammer, a hammer made from a bat and spiked dumbbells.

If you preorder the game via Xbox Live, you’ll get the above plus two additional items: Acordes de la Muerte, a guitar melee weapon, and The Hangover, another melee weapon made out of beer cans and an electrified pitchfork.

If you preorder the Day One Digital Deluxe Edition for $80, which includes the game’s Season Pass that’s also sold separately for $20, you’ll get the following items at launch:

  • Two Amps (special abilities you can equip to customize your character): Smite, which makes your enemies puff into a cloud of smoke, and XP Mod, which will level up your weapons faster.
  • Two Traps: Kaboom, a creepy clown head that produces exploding balloons, and Death by Decibel, a giant, killer speaker system.
  • Outfits: Ninja, Disco Champion, Goth Lolita, Never Get Cold, Road Queen, and Red Monkey Lightning.

In September, Insomniac Games revealed that the DLC in the Season Pass will include:

  • Two campaign expansions, each featuring new locations, stories, bosses, weapons, Amps, outfits, Chaos Squad objectives, and a new Trap.
  • The Weapons Pack add-on, which includes four new weapons.

Sunset Overdrive launches October 28. Also on that day, Microsoft will release a special edition white Xbox One bundle that includes a matching white controller, and a digital copy of the game for $399.
