Brian Michael Bendis, co-creator of the Powers comic book and executive producer of the PlayStation original series of the same name, today revealed the first trailer for the show at the New York City Comic-Con.

The show stars Sharlto Copley (District 9, The A-Team) and Susan Heyward (The Following) as the characters Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim respectively. The two are in charged with protecting humans and investigating cases involving super-human men and women known as “powers.” The show will debut on PlayStation platforms this December and will run for around 10 episodes. Powers mixes the genres of superhero fantasy, crime noir, and police procedural.
Bendis, who’s also writing for the show, said that the first season won’t follow the first year of the comic book exactly, but that fans will recognize the stories.
The series will be available for free to PlayStation Plus members.
