Alien: Isolation Gets Much Easier, And Tougher, With New Difficulty Options

Sega and developer Creative Assembly today announced new difficulty options for horror game Alien: Isolation. Think the game is too easy? Try Nightmare mode. Think it’s too tough? Check out Novice.

Here’s a breakdown of what to expect from the new Alien: Isolation difficulty options, available now on all platforms. Check out the wonderful-looking posters at the bottom of this story for even more.

Nightmare – This “should challenge players to beat the ultimate Alien: Isolation experience.” Your motion tracker display will be damaged and undependable, while resources will be even more limited. On top of that, map systems are offline and the Alien is smarter than ever before.

“With an upgraded AI that has amplified its fatal hostility, every step you take may be your last,” Creative Assembly writes. “Our monster is more adaptive, learning from your tactics with chilling speed and with intensified senses that will give you no second chances…”

Novice – Players will find more resources and ammunition, while the Alien is “more forgiving, more easily distracted, and less aggressive.”
