Super Smash Bros. for Wii U game director Masahiro Sakurai said in a recent interview they Nintendo has no plans to further adjust or balance the fighting game.
Fixes for online play will be continue coming bit by bit, but Sakurai responded to a questions from Famitsu magazine (translated by EventHubs) about whether he plans “on adjusting or balancing the game further through a patch” by saying, “We don’t have any such plans.” But just to be safe, he also added, “If there are any glaring issues, we may address them.”
While Smash Bros. has become a mainstay of fighting game tournaments over the years, the large roster of characters also makes character balancing notoriously lopsided. However, that doesn’t mean the game won’t be getting additional downloadable content down the road. Mewtwo has already been confirmed as a character that will be available in 2015 to players who own the game on both 3DS and Wii U versions of the game. However, it’s unlikely that there will be any additional characters added afterward.
