New DLC is now available for Microsoft’s racing game Forza Horizon 2 in the form of the Storm Island expansion pack, which introduces a new area with “extreme weather” and six off-road vehicles.
Storm Island is available exclusively on Xbox One (the Xbox 360 version of Forza Horizon 2 isn’t getting any DLC) for $20. Forza Horizon 2 VIP owners can get the expansion for $10.
Storm Island is the name of the new location included with the expansion. Microsoft describes it as beautiful yet dangerous place.
“This is a land of gorgeous variety and monumental challenge, with sudden and dramatic terrain changes that push players and their cars to the limit,” Microsoft writes. “Storm Island also features the most severe weather conditions ever seen in a Forza game, including fierce tropical storms and thick fog that will add an entirely new level of challenge. On Storm Island, the weather and the world combine to present players with extreme adventure every time they get behind the wheel.”
Some of the new environmental effects including swaying trees and sun rays cutting through fog.
Storm Island also brings 90 new events and five new event types to Forza Horizon 2. The new event types are Rampage, Brawl, Extreme Cross Country, Cross Country Circuit, and Gauntlet.
On top of the new events, Storm Island packs in new items and other things such as new Bucket List challenges, new speed trap and speed zone leaderboards, and more Rivals events. There are also four new multiplayer Playground arenas, 20 fresh online race routes, and three Showdown event.
