It may only be February, with industry events such as GDC and PAX East still ahead of us, but Microsoft is already gearing up for this summer’s marquee gaming event, E3.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer says on Twitter that “Planning is going well” for E3 this June.

E3 this year will be held June 16-18, which is a week later than normal. Meanwhile, the summer’s other big gaming show, Gamescom, is August 5-9, a week earlier than usual. This comes together to make this summer feel like “one big show,” according to Spencer.

Microsoft, of course, is keeping its E3 plans officially under wraps for now. You can expect the company to tout its exclusives such as Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, the new Crackdown, and Scalebound, while it’s likely the company also has some surprises up its sleeve, too.

Personally, I’m eager to see the next Gears of War, which is in development for Xbox One right now at Black Tusk Studios. What are you hoping to see or learn at Microsoft’s E3 briefing this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
