The post-match screen in Super Smash Bros. is a familiar sight: the winner celebrates, their name is displayed, and the loser offers a sometimes-resentful-looking round of applause. But what we’ve never gotten to experience is what it would be like to also hear that clapping–until now.
YouTube channel GrumpOut has put together the video you see above, which provides “realistic” audio of every one of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U’s playable characters clapping. This goes on for nearly six minutes.
It sounds inane, I know, and it certainly starts out that way, but it quickly becomes hilarious, particularly when you get to some of the more unusual ones, like Wario, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong.
Now we just need someone to mod the game so that these sound effects are actually in the game.
