Nintendo announced today that it is cutting the price for five of its biggest 3DS games. Starting April 22, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will fall to $30. They were previously sold for $35-$40.
That price is good for the physical versions sold in stores and the digital eShop versions. Nintendo says the new price point “represents an even better value for consumers.”
Together, the five games have sold more than 9 million units in the United States, Nintendo said, adding the Mario Kart 7 is the best-selling 3DS game of all-time in the US.
These games are playable on 3DS as well as the 2DS, though if you’re playing on the latter system you won’t, of course, get to experience the titles with the 3D effect applied.
