Assassin’s Creed Unity Animated Short Being Made By Rob Zombie And Co-Creator of The Walking Dead

Ubisoft has revealed that an all-new animated short inspired by Assassin’s Creed Unity is in the works. That much you might have expected. But the creative talent behind it is somewhat surprising. The new animated short, which will debut at Comic-Con next week, was produced by musician and filmmaker Rob Zombie and The Walking Dead co-creator Tony Moore.

Fans who attend the “Heads Will Roll! Assassin’s Creed Unity Demo and Q&A” panel at Comic-Con on Friday, July 25, will be the first to see the animated short. Presumably, the feature will be distributed online sometime thereafter.

People who attend the Assassin’s Creed Unity panel at Comic-Con will also get to learn how the franchise has been “re-imagined” for the new consoles, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The panel will also touch upon the new hero, Arno, as well as “more details” about the game. Ubisoft even teases that attendees will be the first to hear about “new announcements” for the franchise.

An Assassin’s Creed movie–one of six films Ubisoft currently has in production–is also in the works, with 12 Years a Slave actor Michael Fassbender attached to play the lead role.

San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 24-27. In between all the news about movies, TV, and comics, there are also going to plenty of games. Check out this post for a roundup of everything gaming-related happening at Comic-Con this year.

Assassin’s Creed Unity launches October 28 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Assassin’s Creed fans on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 have not been forgotten, however, according to Ubisoft. News about a game for those platforms this year is coming “soon.”
