Last week, Ubisoft released a teaser trailer for Assassin’s Creed Unity that showed the game’s protagonist, Arno, scaling walls and manning a machine gun in a World War II setting. This left some fans scratching their heads as to what it all meant. Now, Ubisoft has promised some answers.
As part of a “101 Trailer” for Unity released today (watch the whole thing above), Ubisoft explains that the game will feature a “Time Anomaly” section where Arno will leave 18th century Paris and travel to the same city but in 1944, during the height of the German occupation of France.
“During the campaign, Arno will have to jump through an unstable time anomaly, which will transport him to a new time period in Paris,” the narrator says. “Climb the Eiffel tower and man machine guns to take down warplanes.” You can see that in action in the trailer above starting at 5:43.
Interestingly, World War II is one of the most-requested eras for a future Assassin’s Creed game, according to previous comments from Ubisoft. Others include ancient Egypt and feudal Japan.
Unity is coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 11. Meanwhile, Ubisoft will also release Assassin’s Creed Rogue on that day, but for last-generation consoles.
