Sony has revealed its monthly list of the best-selling games on the PlayStation Store in North America for July, and it was a pair of indie games that came out on top on PlayStation 4.
In lieu of a major July release, it was the re-release of PS3 game Journey that topped the PS4 charts despite launching on July 21. In the number two spot was another gorgeous indie game, Bastion, but in this case, you can likely attribute the strong sales to a discount that offered it for a measly $3.45. Rounding out the top five were Batman: Arkham Knight, Minecraft, and June’s top-seller, The Elder Scrolls Online.
Minecraft was the top game on PS3 as it has been almost every single month since its launch, while it was the number two game on Vita. J-Stars Victory VS+, which launched at the end of June, was the top Vita game, number three on PS3, and number 14 on PS4.
