Activision has released a new gameplay trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops III that shows off the shooter’s futuristic new cybernetic modificiations that players can use in the game’s campaign. Specifically, what you’re seeing here is a soldier’s “Chaos Cybercore” abilities, which are designed to send enemies into a state of confusion, leaving them exposed and vulnerable. This is done in a number of ways.
As you’ll see in the video, some of these include an ability that lets you pass electricity through you foes when you melee them. Another is an immolation ability that allows you to use your enemies’ own explosives against them. Yet another literally brings your foes to their knees by making them so sick they lose their lunch right on the battlefield. My favorite, however, would have to be the “Firefly Swarm.” Activate this ability, and a swarm of tiny drones will follow you, attacking all enemies in the vicinity.
Whether or not these abilities will also work in Black Ops III’s multiplayer mode was not announced.
Black Ops III launches on November 6 for all platforms. The last-generation versions of the shooter, however, do not have a campaign mode, only multiplayer and Zombies. In other recent news, Black Ops III will have a “Realistic” difficulty setting and has beaten Fallout 4 in one poll to become the most anticipated holiday 2015 multiplatform game. The shooter features the voice and likeness of Law & Order actor Christopher Meloni as one of its main bad guys, while even more celebrities show up in the Zombies mode.
