[UPDATE] Sony has now officially announced the 1 TB PlayStation 4 Call of Duty: Black Ops III bundle. As you can see, the console sports the well-known orange and black Black Ops colors. Also featured are three emblems on the front of the console to represent campaign (SOG Skull), multiplayer (Winslow Accord), and Zombies (“the mark”). The matching DualShock 4 controller will also be sold separately.
People who buy this $450 bundle also get standard edition company of the game, as well as reimagined version of the famous Nuketown map, which is now called Nuk3town.
The original story is below.
Sony is bringing the 1 TB PlayStation 4 model to the US, if a newly spotted Amazon product listing is anything to go by. A listing for 1 TB console bundle that includes a copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops III has been discovered by Internet sleuth Wario64. The package will reportedly sell for $450.
Sony launched the “Ultimate Player Edition” 1 TB PS4 model earlier this summer in Europe and PAL territories. But the console, which is also lighter and more energy efficient, has never been released in the US. It looks like that’s about to change; we have followed up with Sony to get more details.
It appears Sony has also created a special edition DualShock 4 controller themed around Black Ops III, as another Amazon product page says this pad will go on sale October 26 for $65. The console, meanwhile, is listed to launch on November 6 alongside the game.
In 2014, Microsoft and Activision teamed up for a 1 TB Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Xbox One bundle that marked the first time the console was available with that hard drive size. Now that Sony has won Call of Duty’s exclusivity away from Microsoft, it appears the company is taking a page right out of Microsoft’s playbook with its own Call of Duty hardware bundle.
No images of the rumored Black Ops III PS4 bundle or controller have been revealed.
