Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Presentation Will Explore Importance of AI Systems

The PlayStation Experience panel schedule is filling in. Activision has now announced that it will hold a presentation at the event this weekend dedicated to the AI systems in Call of Duty: Black Ops III.

During a panel called “Call of Duty: Black Ops III: Unlocking the Potential of AI,” members of the development team at Treyarch will discuss the “fundamentals of artificial intelligence” and speak about how it “can shape the future of games.

Activision’s Scott Lowe writes in this PlayStation Blog post that Treyarch had to “completely overhaul” the AI system to accommodate the shooter’s four-player co-op campaign.

If you’re attending PlayStation Experience in person, you can catch the panel on Saturday, December 5, starting at 4 PM PST / 7 PM EST at the Moscone West Hall, third floor.

Speakers include:

  • Gary Stelmack, Senior Designer, Call of Duty Black Ops 3
  • Sumeet Jakatdar, Senior Software Engineer, Call of Duty Black Ops 3
  • Yanick Lebel, Lead Animator, Animation, Call of Duty Black Ops 3
  • Craig Houston, Lead Writer, Call of Duty Black Ops 3

This panel–and others–will also be streamed live on Twitch. Other panels already confirmed for the show include one about Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and another involving storytelling.

The PlayStation Experience keynote address, which will also be streamed, is scheduled to begin at 10 AM PST on December 5. GameSpot will have all the news from the show for you as it’s announced.

A complete schedule of events will be announced later this week. On top of the keynote and panels, attendees (tickets are still available) can play these 113 games.

You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.
