Check Out New Trailer for Fez-Like Multidimensional Platformer Poncho

A new trailer has been released for Poncho, a game that its developers claim is a platformer “like nothing seen before in games.” Somewhat similar to Polytron’s Fez, Poncho lets players explore a 2D world by manipulating 3D parallax layers. What’s that mean? Watch the video below.

“It’s been an incredible journey, for almost four years we’ve been working on this game, putting everything we have into making it the best game it can be,” the team wrote on Facebook.

There are no levels in Poncho, at least not in the traditional sense.

“You wake up in the center of the game, and choose to go any way you want,” reads a line from the game’s official description. “With no hand-holding to tell you where to go, it’s up to you to choose the right path.”

You play as a robot named Poncho, who is trying to survive in a world devoid of humans after they went extinct. Every area boasts a randomly generated ecosystem, while the creatures inside it will react to your movements.

Poncho is scheduled to launch on November 3 for PC, Mac, and Linux, as well as PlayStation 4. Versions of the game for PlayStation Vita (with cross-buy support) and Wii U are coming later.
