If you’d like to know how many times you died in From Software’s 2011 role-playing game Dark Souls, there is now a way to find out. A new website called The Dark Souls Death Counter has emerged, and it allows people who have played the PC version to upload their save file to see how many times they died during their journey.
PC players can locate their save file in “Documents/NBGI/DarkSouls/[your name]” and upload it to the website to see their death count. Of note, the tally does not include the number of times you might have died as a phantom, the website cautions.
Support for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Dark Souls is unavailable at the moment. However, you can send the website your Xbox 360 or PS3 save files and the developers will look into a way to make this possible, they said.
The people behind The Dark Souls Death Counter are looking to add a similar death-counter for Dark Souls II, which launches for PC on April 25. The Xbox 360 and PS3 version launches tomorrow. For more, check out GameSpot’s guide for everything you need to know before playing Dark Souls II.
