DayZ developer Bohemia Interactive has released a free, 2D interpretation of the zombie survival game.
MiniDayZ, as it’s called, is single-player game where you explore Chernarus from a top-down perspective, searching for the food and supplies you need to stay alive, fighting zombies, and watching out for other survivors. The game was created by a fan with Bohemia Interactive’s blessing, and now that it’s reached version 1.0, is being promoted by the developer.
It’s played in-browser and is available exclusively from Bohemia Interactive’s online store, so you’ll need to create a free account in order to get it.
The real DayZ, which is available through Steam Early Access, is still in development and is updated regularly. It doesn’t have a release date yet, but the game’s creator Dean Hall previously said it’s likely to end up on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in addition to the PC.
