Dead Rising: Endgame’s release date has been revealed by streaming service Crackle. You can watch the sequel to 2015’s Dead Rising: Watchtower when it releases on the movie-streaming service on June 20.
The company announced the date at an industry presentation, in addition to revealing a first look photo of some of the movie’s characters (via IGN). It features Jesse Metcalfe as reporter Chase Carter with co-stars Patrick Sabongui as “a skilled zombie killer and video game aficionado,” Marie Avgeropoulos as “a skilled computer hacker,” and Ian Tracey as a character named Hancock. The movie is filmed in Vancouver, Canada, and the first photo shows the characters standing on the city’s Dunsmuir Street. You can see it all for yourself in the image below.
Other actors set to appear in Endgame include Titanic actor Billy Zane as a scientist hired to cure the zombie outbreak and 24 actor Dennis Haysbert, who is also known for his Allstate commercials, as General Lyons.
The official plot synopsis says “Dead Rising: Endgame drops us into the zombie-infested quarantined zone of East Mission City where investigative reporter Chase Carter must stop a secret government conspiracy which, though seemingly aimed at ending the country’s zombie epidemic, will also kill millions of innocent civilians.”
The Dead Rising sequel is helmed by Continuum director Pat Williams with Terminator Salvation‘s Michael Ferris and Mortal Kombat: Legacy’s Tim Carter on as writers.
21 Jump Street‘s Rob Riggle appeared as Frank West in the first Dead Rising movie, but it appears he will not return as the zombie series’ iconic character.
