If you preordered Destiny, it’s now available to pre-load on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.
According to the PlayStation Blog, there are two way to preload the game. If you have “auto-download” enabled on your PS4 or PS3, it will begin downloading automatically by Monday. If you don’t want to wait until then, you can start the download manually by navigating to the Destiny game page on the PlayStation Store and clicking the “download button.”
According to Destiny’s PlayStation Store page, the PS4 version of the game is a 17.4GB download, though as we’ve seen with Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition for the PS4, these numbers aren’t always accurate.
As Microsoft announced in late August, Destiny will is also available to pre-load on Xbox One.
If you pre-load the game, you’ll be able to play it as soon as it’s officially released at 12:00 am Pacific Time / 3:00 am Eastern Time on Tuesday, September 9.
As publisher Activision announced yesterday, buying the game for Xbox 360 and PS3 before January 15, 2015 will get you a free copy of the game for Xbox One or PS4, should you choose to upgrade to the new consoles. The game will transfer your progress and DLC included in the season pass if you bought it.
