Destiny Xbox One Frame Rate Issues Reported

This week’s hefty update for Destiny appears to be causing frame rate issues for the Xbox One version of the game. While developer Bungie is investigating the matter, no permanent fix is available yet.

“Currently, we are investigating some players experiencing low frame-rates while using Xbox One party chat,” the developer explained on its website. “Players have reported a potential workaround you can try as we continue to investigate a fix for this issue. In some cases, refraining from using the Xbox One Party Chat app seems to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

It is unclear how widespread the issue is. Bungie did not provide a timetable regarding when or how it will address the issue. We’ll continue to follow this story as it unfolds.

This has been a big week for Destiny. In addition to Monday’s massive update, Bungie released the EV-30 Sparrow vehicle (pictured above) for some players. It differs from the standard Sparrow in that it lets you ride faster and higher, and also perform all manner of freestyle tricks.

On top of that, what appears to be the opening cinematic for Destiny’s December DLC, The Dark Below, has leaked. Further, Bungie this week released a free Destiny trial across all platforms.

Destiny launched in September, and has 9.5 million registered users by publisher Activision’s latest count. Bungie will support the game with two expansions, the first of which–The Dark Below–will be released next month. Bungie is also now working on a full-on Destiny sequel.
